AfaTech AF9015 chip (USB stick) installation experiment Ubuntu 12.10

trying to install based on the info on: http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Afatech_AF9015

okay installation steps

current kernel is: linux-headers-3.5.0-23-generic

get linux headers

  • sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)

get latest v4l sources. (assuming git alreadyinstalled)

  • sudo apt-get install  libproc-processtable-perl
  • git clone git://linuxtv.org/media_build.git
    cd media_build
    ./build
    make install

linux/v4l-dvb/firmware/af9015/5.1.0.0 (backup)

Vendor Released Driver (Last Up to date) No external firmware needed !

Install linux headers, merge it with the last v4l-dvb source, then make, make install and enjoy.

      not yet, unfortunatelly. the process was a real pain, and after several tries i couldnt achieve anything. im going to suspend this blog since i had no success. Cheers. :)
